Data Analysis Volunteers

The BC Chapter of Canadian Parks and Wilderness Society (CPAWS-BC) is seeking volunteers to assist with data analysis. Volunteers will work with the marine campaign team to analyze and verify data obtained for marine conservation campaigns.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to conduct online research and enter data into an excel spreadsheet
  • Ability to work independently but in close cooperation with CPAWS-BC staff
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Passion for protecting BC’s wilderness

Deliverables and Duties:

The successful candidate will work with CPAWS-BC staff to verify data sets against multiple sources, and enter or confirm that correct data has been entered into a spreadsheet. Volunteers will be assigned data in sets, and may take on more or less work depending on their availability.

This position is excellent experience Environmental Studies, Conservation Biology, Resource and other students with an interest in working in an environmental field, as well as anyone with a passion for protecting B.C.’s wilderness and oceans. Data analysis volunteers will gain valuable insight into an important aspect of marine conservation work.

Volunteers are highly valued members of the CPAWS-BC team and can make a significant difference in protecting B.C.’s wilderness for future generations, while increasing their knowledge of conservation campaigns.


Time period:

Volunteer positions will be ongoing until all data is analyzed. Volunteer hours and commitments are flexible according to the volunteer's schedule.
