You’re invited to join IMPAC5 and Ocean Fest! February 3-9, 2023

This February, CPAWS, the governments of Canada and BC, and the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) are co-hosting IMPAC5 – the Fifth International Marine Protected Areas Congress. We’ll welcome Indigenous Knowledge holders, scientists, decision makers and community leaders from around the world to the BC coast.

IMPAC5 is a huge opportunity to advance marine conservation at home and around the world. With help from the new Global Biodiversity Framework, ocean experts will gather to chart a course towards protecting 30 per cent of the global ocean by 2030.

The CPAWS-BC team can’t wait to be part of the action! Our expert Ocean Conservation team is presenting our work on spatial planning and glass sponge reefs, promoting our conservation with allied environmental NGOs, and connecting with decision makers.

A healthy ocean means a healthy future for us all. You’re invited  to join our ocean celebrations at IMPAC5 Ocean Fest. Here’s how you can get involved:
